Objective
Re-brand a musician’s, Kylie Dailey’s, “Be The Cat” single cover design with their matching brand aesthetic into deliverables to promote their new release into an imaginary album and tour. Lastly, create mockups with the deliverables.
Project Description
I want to re-brand Kylie Dailey’s “Be The Cat” single cover design into a single cover design if it were to be a 7” vinyl single with a track A and B. I want to take a literal approach to the song by having the cover be of a cat rather than what it is now, a portrait of Kylie Dailey. I am deciding to include an illustration of a cat for the cover rather than a photograph as I have seen some drawn and collaged elements into some of her previous album, solo, and EP cover designs. The strokes of the painting would also bring the hand drawn feeling that is also implemented in the many script fonts on other of Dailey’s covers, including the original cover. As Kylie Dailey is an indie genre artist, the intended audience would be her fans and other indie music listeners. I still want this rebranded single cover design to fit among the rest of her cover designs, so as to not look out of place if all her covers were to be shelved together.
